Olá little swans! Esse post é "estilo Buzzfeed"; organizei 22 verdades (dramas) sobre ser vintagista e viver um estilo de vida vintage. Se você é um vintage lover, provavelmente vai se identificar com quase tudo dessa lista:
Hello little swans! This post is in "Buzzfeed style"; I've organized 22 facts (dramas) about being a vintagist and living a vintage lifestyle. If you're a vintage lover, will probably relate to almost everything on this list: 

1. Tudo é muito caro /

Everything is so expensive

Roupas, mobília, objetos, acessórios de toucador, colecionáveis... Você se pergunta porque escolheu um estilo de vida tão caro.
Clothes, furniture, objects, dressing table accessories, collectibles... You wonder why you chose such an expensive lifestyle. 

2. Fazer seu cabelo requer tempo e paciência /

Grooming your hair requires time and patience

MUITO tempo e paciência. E laquê. E bobs. E mousse modelador. E grampos. E é necessário cortá-lo constantemente (a não ser que sua inspiração capilar seja Veronica Lake).
A LOT of time and patience. And hairspray. And rollers. And pomade. And bobby pins. It is necessary to cut it regularly (unless your hair inspo is Veronica Lake).

3. Ninguém conhece seus ídolos /

Nobody knows your idols

4. Você simplesmente não tem o menor interesse pelas Kardashians /

Você nunca assistiu um episódio de Keeping Up With The Kardashians, ou pelo menos assistiu mas não se interessou. Nem segue uma das irmãs no Instagram.
You've never seen an episode from Keeping Up With The Kardashians or actually did once but didn't feel interesting. Neither follow one of the sisters on Instagram.

5. Achar um filme antigo não-famoso é uma difícil tarefa /

It's a hard work to find non-famous old movies

Você até fez uma lista de filmes que tem muita vontade de assistir, porém não consegui achar. E é uma lista bem grande.
You even made a list of movies you wish to watch but can't find. And it's a huge list. 

6. A cada dez presentes oito você joga fora /

You throw away eight of ten presents you get

Ou doa, dá para alguma amiga, vende... Ás vezes mantêm porque veio de uma pessoal especial, mesmo que não vá usar. É terrível te presentear, por isso acaba preferindo ganhar dinheiro no natal e aniversário.
Or donate it, give away to a friend, sell... Sometimes you keep it because it was from a special someone, though you're not going to use it. It's terrible to gift you, that's why you'd rather get money for Christmas and birthday. 

7. Você até admira as beauty gurus do Instagram, mas não tem vontade de fazer sua maquiagem como as delas /

You admire the Instagram beauty gurus, but don't feel the urge to do your makeup like they do

8. Sua relação com meias é de amor e ódio / 

You're in a love-hate relationships with stockings

Meias são lindas e fazem suas pernas aparentarem divinas, principalmente se forem de risca, mas se rasgar (o que vai acontecer em algum momento), são vinte conto (ou até mais) jogados no lixo. Inclusive, há alguns meses a meia de risca que usei na minha formatura estragou e vou ter que comprar outra :(
Stockings are exquisite and make your legs look gorgeous, specially if they're seamed and heeled, but if they rip apart (which is going to happen at some moment), there goes your money. By the way, the seamed stockings I wore for my graduation ripped apart and I'll have to buy new ones :(

9. E falando em meias, é difícil encontrar cinta-ligas com preço bom que não sejam vulgares /

And talking on stockings, finding affordable garter belts that don't look vulgar is hard

É sério, quem foi que transformou uma peça de necessidade básica feminina em um adereço sexual? Você simplesmente não entende porque vulgarizaram a cinta-liga. VOCÊ SÓ QUER UMA PARA SEGURAR SUAS MEIAS E MANTÊ-LAS NO LUGAR!
For real, who the heck said that a woman's basic essential is a sexual prop? You just can't understand why garter belts were vulgarized. YOU JUST WANT ONE TO HOLD AND KEEP YOUR STOCKINGS IN PLACE! 

10. Suas noites de Netflix são regadas a Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Agent Carter, Mad Man e outros /

Your Netflix nights include Miss Fisher's Murder Mysteries, Agent Carter, Mad Man and more

E acha que o catálogo de clássicos deveria se expandir. 

And you think that the classics catalogue should be expanded.

11. As pessoas reclamam que você se veste/cheira como a avó delas / 

People complain that you look/smell like their grandmas

Você passa aquele perfume lançado em 1962 feliz da vida. Aí alguém chega e diz "nossa, você cheira igualzinho à minha avó". Que bom né querido, sua avó deve ser bem glamourosa!
You spray that 1962 perfume in joy. Then someone comes at you and say "wow, you smell just like my grandma". Well that's great, your grandma must be very glamorous!

12. No fundo, você sabe que ama a ESTÉTICA e não as décadas em si /

Deep inside, you know you love the AESTHETIC and not the decades

Guerras mundiais, nazismo, machismo, guerra fria, União Soviética, racismo, bombas, homofobia... Que bom que nasci em 1998.
World wars, nazis, sexism, cold war, Soviet Union, racism, bombs, homophobia... I'm glad I was born in 1998.

13. Você tem hábitos que a maioria das pessoas não têm /

You have habits most people don't

Como usar talco e dormir com bobs ou pin curls,
Such as using dusting powder and sleep in sponge rollers or pin curls.

14. Você tem um arsenal de batom vermelho e ainda não é suficiente /

You own an arsenal of red lipsticks and it's not enough yet

Se como eu você ainda mora com os pais, então sabe o que é ter uma mãe que reclama toda vez que você aparece com batons novos.
If you live with your parents like me, so you know what is like to have a mom who complains everytime you get new lipsticks. 

15. Você queria ter dinheiro para comprar todos os produtos da Dita /

You wish you had money to afford everything from Dita's merch

Livros, maquiagens, perfumes, lingerie... É muita coisa linda pra tão pouco dinheeiro.

16. Ninguém gosta de ir passear em um museu, exceto você /

Alguém disse "exposição de carros antigos"? PARTIU!

17. Você conhece todos os nomes que a Madonna mencionou em "Vogue"/

You know every single name Madonna mentioned in "Vogue"

Não sou fã da Madonna, mas eu conheço esse trecho como a palma da minha mão. E ah, também entendemos as referências da Lana Del Rey.

I'm not a fan of Madonna, but I know this part as the palm of my hand. Oh, and we also understand Lana Del Rey's references.

18. Só Deus sabe quantas horas passou procurando por aquela raridade na internet/

Only God knows how many hours you spent looking for that rare treasure in internet

Você é tipo a Ariel do vintage. Noites e noites procurando por alguma antiguidade, e quando você acha, normalmente não pode pagar por ela... Triste realidade.

You're pretty much like a vintage Ariel. Nights and nights looking for some antique trinket, and when you find it, you usually can't afford it... It's true and it sucks. 

19. Você fica MUITO ansioso quando alguma marca anuncia uma linha inspirada em vintage.../

You feel SO excited when some brand announces a vintage-inspired line...

Você também sente o dinheiro indo embora!

You can also feel the money flying away! 

20. ... E como em muitas vezes, a linha nem é tão vintage assim /

... And just like in so many times, it's not exactly vintage

Porque a indústria mainstream não tem uma noção muito boa do que é vintage. Eles acham que é só estampa de bolinhas, cerejas, âncoras e flores. 

Because mainstream industry doesn't know vintage that well. They think it is only about polka dots, cherries, anchors and flowers.

21. Você é sempre o destaque nas fotos /

You're always the spotlight in photos

E não é porque você quer. Simplesmente acontece!

And it's not your fault. It just happens! 

22. Mas mesmo assim, você ama esse lifestyle e não troca por nada! /

But you love this lifestyle anyway and won't change it!

Os amigos que fez, as preciosidades que adquiriu, as maquiagens que aprendeu, os filmes que descobriu... Você é grato por tudo isso. E o mais importante: é feliz nesse jeito "ultrapassado" de viver. E a felicidade é o que importa! 

The friends you've made, the trinkets you've got, the makeup looks you've learnt, the movies you've discovered... You're grateful for everything. And the most important part: you're happy with this old-fashioned way of living. And happiness is what matters!
